Magyar Telekom Telecommunications Public Limited Company provides telecommunication services in Hungary and internationally. It offers local, domestic, and international long distance telephone services to fixed line subscribers. The company also provides Internet services based on dial-up and asymmetric digital subscriber line technology, as well as access through cable television, wireless local area network, and leased lines to residential and business customers. In addition, it offers data transmission and related services, mobile telecommunications services, and cable and digital Internet-based television services, as well as sells telecommunications equipment. Additionally, Magyar Telekom provides information and communications technology solutions, and outsourcing and managed services. Further, the company offers services, such as call forwarding, call waiting, call conference, and caller number identity services; private branch exchange services through voice over Internet protocol; and directory inquiry services. As of December 31, 2008, it operated approximately 2.3 million fixed access lines and served approximately 5.4 million mobile subscribers in Hungary. The company was founded in 1991 and is based in Budapest, Hungary. Magyar Telekom Telecommunications Public Limited Company is a subsidiary of MagyarCom GmbH.
