We are proud to announce a new social network platform FINVIZ Collaborate. In this phase, it offers you the ability to share market ideas with your friends through private discussion channels. The platform is available to all registered FINVIZ users (free).

Key features

- private, noise free discussions with people you trust
- full integration of FINVIZ data, charts and tools

Application examples

- collaborative market analysis & trading
- content and knowledge sharing between users including presets, portfolios, watchlists
- social networking, find new friends through the user search e.g. speaking your language or trading similar strategy
- personal trading logs, market diaries, content storage for images, notes, watchlists, warnings or to-do lists

Workflow

- create your own channel (or more channels if you wish)
- invite your friends and fellow traders
- start posting messages

Notes

- to share your ideas publicly, you can use the forum for the time being
- public discussion channels e.g. for support or education will implemented in the future

For any questions regarding the platform, features and functionality please contact us.

Successful Collaboration!

Hi, I think this is a great idea, but are we unable to give people a URL link to our channels? I understand that you can invite users, but why not allow Finviz users to view people's channels before having to subscribe?
Also, is the only way for another Finviz member to subscribe to my channel is by messaging me with their email so I can invite them?

Thanks.

Agreed with all points above. If users could see my channel(s) or vice versa, it would provide the visibility needed to determine if the channel is right for you. As it stands, I would have to invite those based off of a similar set of profile stats as the only criteria.

Maybe provide the name and description and lock until invited?

The collaborate platform is based on privacy which means you share information only with people you trust e.g. traders you personally know. Currently, the user search feature shouldn't be the primary way of finding new members for your channels.

To allow someone quickly subscribe to your channel all he needs to know is the channel name and the access key. You can publish them wherever you like, e.g. on this forum. We can consider an optional "channel preview" feature.

Thanks for your feedback, it's appreciated.

I understand Alex. I guess I come from the standpoint that I really don't "know" anyone yet....and those I do know all share info through other means....

Of course I could bring those folks this way Applause

well Alex,
i just signed up and all i can say is WOOWWWWWW...
i don't much care what you do here in the backend (forum) as long as it stays decently navigable.... but your front end just blew me away-- never seen anything like it, at least not free... what scares me is that you guys might one day start charging for the frontend.... look, i wouldn't mind a bit seeing some ads around here, front or backend... i won't have much to say here for awhile because i'm making brokerage changes and internal system changes so not trading at the moment but this place definitely got my attention--- great work!
:d/ Applause

With the number of members listed, any way of showing the number of collaboration sites?

First, love the site and can't say enough about it! Thank you.

Second, Is it possible to set the Collaborate page to periodically auto-refresh?

Thanks again!

Hello Alex,

Consider telling people that if they make their portfolio's public, there is no personal info on their quantities and dollars on the Collaborate function. I get a lot of good ideas looking at different portfolio's from others. If that is part of the registration info, it may make more public and I have saved some to my portfolio's.
